The House of Representatives has 435 members. To be a member, you would have to be at least 25 years of age, have at least 7 years of citizenship, and be a resident of the state that you wish to represent.
The number of representatives is determined by population of state. The more populated the state is, the more representatives, but each state must have at least 1 representative.
The presiding officer is the Speaker of the House.
Powers given to the House of Representatives:
Power to impeach President or other federal officials. Impeachment does not immediately kick the President/ federal official out, it can be thought more of an accusation of a crime.
Any bill that has something to with taxes begins in the House of Representatives.
In Presidential elections, if there's a tie in the electoral college, the House decides who'll be President by a majority vote. Each state has one vote, regardless of how many Representatives a state may have.
